Nascent Soul

Cultivators enter the Nascent Soul stage when they successfully collapse their Core using its energy to mold an empty Nascent Soul and relocate their soul into the Nascent Soul. Relocation of their soul will trigger a Heart Demon Tribulation that tests their resolve. If a cultivator fails the tribulation both their Soul and forming Nascent soul will be scattered.

Upon entering this stage, a cultivators lifespan is increased by a thousand years. As they progress within the stage they can increase their lifespan by up to 2000 years. In addition to lifespan, Nascent Soul cultivators can collect, store and draw upon greater amounts of Spiritual Energy. This grants the ability to use magical abilities and treasures of greater strength.

So as long as a cultivator's Nascent Soul remains intact, cultivators are able to survive the destruction of their mortal bodies. Using their Nascent Soul, they are able to forcefully take over the bodies of weaker cultivators. Normally this is limited to a single time. At the Nascent Soul stage, cultivating in another body will slow progression. While the Nascent Soul can survive without a body, cultivators are unable to progress until they acquire another mortal body.

In the Mortal World, Nascent Soul cultivators are treated as Grand Elders or Ancestors of large sects. Stability is dictated by the balance of Nascent Soul cultivators between neighboring sects or alliances.

Stage	Description
Early	Initial stage upon forming a Nascent Soul within a cultivators Dantian. Individuals at this stage can effortlessly dispatch Core Formation cultivators.
Middle	Achieved when sufficient spiritual energy is collected to fill the Nascent Soul. Cultivators at this stage can typically win fights against Early-stage Nascent Soul cultivators. However, they may not be able to destroy fleeing Nascent Souls.
Late	Achieved when the Nascent Soul is grown after collecting and refining greater amounts of spiritual energy. Cultivators at this stage can effortless destroy the Nascent Souls of Early-stage cultivators. They can typically win fights against Middle-stage cultivators. However, they may not be able to destroy a fleeing Middle-stage Nascent Soul.
Peak	Achieved when the Nascent Soul can no longer grow further through the collection and refinement of Spiritual Energy. While a cultivator can continue refining their Nascent Soul to improve their battle-prowess, it will not contribute to growth of their cultivation. Peak-stage cultivators are typically unrivaled in the Lower Realms because higher-grade cultivators that draw upon World Energy face backlash in lower realms where they are unable to replenish what they use.

Gained Abilities[]

Ability	Description
Instantaneous Movement	A manifested Nascent Soul that has left a Mortal Body, has the ability to instantly travel hundreds of meters with each use of the technique. As a result, Nascent Soul stage cultivators can flee conflicts. This makes Nascent Soul stage grand elders of large sects wary of offending Vagrant Cultivators who they would be unable to prevent from dismantling their sects.
Body Possession	A manifested Nascent Soul is able to take over another body provided that the body isn't occupied by a cultivator at a similar or higher grade of cultivation.

Useful Resources[]

Cultivation materials beneficial for Nascent Souls are potent and more concentrated in Spiritual Energy. However, the materials are rare depending on the realm and world where a Nascent Soul cultivator resides. In the Mortal World, materials are scarce within the Heavenly South Region, and abundant in the Great Jin.

Blood Yang Pill	1306	A cultivation progression pill that contains incredibly dense Spiritual Energy. Consumption can save a Nascent Soul stage cultivator over 100 years of arduous cultivation. The pill is concocted using the Divine Blood of a spirit.
Dragon Scale Fruit	1254	A fruit that is rarely found because it only grows in certain environments. Eating the fruit periodically will strengthen the body. Strengthening the body makes it easier to cultivate arts and techniques that refine the body.
Fuchsia Cloud Pill	856	A cultivation progression pill that contains incredibly dense Spiritual Energy. Cultivators consuming the pill should be at the Mid-Nascent Soul stage, otherwise their meridians would tear under the amount of energy absorbed.
Nascent Cultivating Pill	975	A divine quality medicine that was the signature spiritual medicine produced by an Ancient Sect within the Mortal World. The pill improves the quality of the Nascent Soul allowing cultivators to easily break through bottlenecks in entering the Middle, Late and Peak stages of the Nascent Soul stage.
Snow Soul Pill	856	Increases the power of ice-attributed techniques.
Spirit Tempering Pill	597	Also known as the Soul Pacifying Pill. It hardens the heart and calms the soul alleviating the effect of a cultivators Inner Demons. This pill provides assistance with passing the Heart Demon Tribulation encountered when a cultivator relocates their soul within their forming Nascent Soul. As a result, it is sought by the entire cultivation world.
