Bao Hua is a Sacred Ancestor (Grand Ascension) of the Elder Devil Realm. She is a Devilish Foral Tree that gained sentience.

Background

Bao Hua was formerly a Matriarch (Tribulation Transcendence) of the realm ruling over the realm. As a matriarch, she was a pillar of power within the realm and worked to ensure its continuing prosperity. Along with other patriarchs, she made preparations to the realm against the Stemborer Queen which threatened to consume the realm. However, she was plotted against by several sacred ancestors and another patriarch. She was severely injured as a result.

Escape

As a result of injuries, Bao Hua was forced to flee from the Elder Devil Realm with her followers. She managed to escape to the Spirit Realm by forcefully teleporting her territory into a barren stretch of land within the territory of the Heavenly Cloud Races on the Thunder Continent. Her arrival generated a spatial storm that alarmed nearby beings. Her arrival was met by resistance by the Heavenly Cloud Races. However, her presence and power as a Sacred Ancestor resulted in a truce. The Heavenly Cloud Races sealed the area using a powerful lightning formation to prevent the spread of Devilish Energy. The region became renown as the Golden Devil Mountain Ranges.

Within the mountain ranges, Bao Hua entered seclusion in an attempt to recover from her injuries. She left the management and handling of affairs to her trusted servants.

Recovery

Over 10,000 years later, Bao Hua managed to recover enough strength to safely travel through the Spirit Realm. Using her divination abilities, she determined that a being on the Tian Yuan Continent possessed some sort of item that would aide in her recovery. As a result, she set off on a journey and took a follower as a personal aide. To get to the Tian Yuan Continent, she used a Great Teleportation Formation controlled by the Silver Race.

Bao Hua leveraged her divination abilities and traveled across the continent in search of flower that would aide in her recovery. Her journey took her to different races. Weaker races without a Grand Ascension protector, were given a choice to surrender their grand treasures such the holy flower of the Green Limb Race - or face annihilation. She preferred not to needlessly draw attention to her presence by annihilating an entire race. Races with Grand Ascension protectors like the Wood Tribe resisted her demands. In such situations, she often sparred with the race's protector in an alternate space. In these duels, she easily overwhelmed her opponents striking deep fear and ultimately forcing them to give into her demands.

First Meeting

Bao Hua's divination abilities took her to the Human and Demon territories on the continent. Along the way, she encountered Lei Yunzi who possessed a spirit medicine that would greatly aide in her recovery. She pursued him and attempted to make him hand over his spirit medicine. However, he turned out to be more illusive than she expected. Lei Yunzi was proficient at lightning-based teleportation formations and was able to evade her. She was able to use her experience in spatial and divination abilities to track him down.

After playing a game of cat-and-mouse, Bao Hua met Han Li who coincidentally met up with Lei Yunzi. She was surprised to find out that Han Li possessed a fragment of her shattered Profound Heavenly Fortune Blade. She forcefully took back the fragment and gifted it to her subordinate Hei'e. Unfortunately, she was unable to obtain the spiritual medicine. She did not expect that both Han Li and Lei Yunzi could combine their abilities to teleport millions of kilometers away. The two teleported themselves outside of the range of her ability to accurately track them.

Han Li was being pursued by two Sacred Ancestor clones of Yuan Cha and Xue Guang. As a result, Bao Hua encountered the two clones. Both sacred ancestors were considered enemies having been betrayed and injured by their collective plotting. She destroyed three of Xue Guang's clones, and nearly killed Yuan Cha's as well. Yuan Cha was saved by the interference by the clone of Liu Ji who was also a Sacred Ancestor that Bao Hua considered as an enemy.

Returning to the Elder Devil Realm

Years later, Bao Hua discovered that a human would lead her towards the medicine she needed to recover her wounds. As a result, she secretly followed the Matriarch of the Ye Family to a secret gathering between the Spirit and Human races. Bao Hua was surprised to see Han Li again, and was further shocked when she was unable to use her divination abilities to see potential future interactions with him. The group conducting the secret gathering intended to invade the Elder Devil Realm in the hopes of obtaining a Clean Spirit Lotus, that was useful for Body Integration stage cultivators hoping to ascend to the Grand Ascension stage.

Bao Hua followed the group as it invaded a devilish stronghold that was protecting a spatial node that connected the Spirit and Elder Devil realms. The group entered the Elder Devil Realm. However, returning to the Elder Devil realm in her weakened state was a risky endeavor. Her subordinates did not think it was a goo idea. In order to reduce the risk of encountering danger, she instructed her subordinates to silence all who witnessed the group attacking the devilish stronghold. She returned to the Elder Devil Realm to follow the group.

Recovery

Bao Hua secretly followed the group as they travelled in the Elder Devil Realm. She secretly captured, interrogated and killed one of its members that separated from the group in an attempt to return to the Spirit Realm. It turned out that the individual was tasked with safely transporting a Core Formation stage human back to the Spirit Realm. Acting on her divination ability, she captured the human instead and searched its soul allowing her to discover that the human was Zhu Guo from a lower-realm called the Small Spirit Sky that had a fateful connection with Han Li.

Later on, the group managed to reach the Bitter Spirit Island that housed the Clean Spirit Lotus. In the process, the group attracted the attention of another Devilish Partiarch named Yuan Yan. Unable to directly face one of her enemies, Bao Hua only revealed herself when Yuan Yan was weakened by the group of human and spirit beings that invaded the island. As a result, Yuan Yan was unwilling to engage in a direct conflict that would severely debilitate himself. By the time she revealed herself, Han Li was the only remaining survivor.

From her divination, Bao Hua identified Han Li as the individual who carried the spiritual medicine she needed to recover. She immediately tried to kill him. However, she was shocked to learn that he possessed the Heavenly Spiritslash Sword which he used to stop her attacks. She was given even further shock when he revealed his Holy Nirvana Physique. She quickly calculated that she was sustain far too many injuries attempting to kill Han Li to obtain the medicines. As a result, she changed her tactics and instead traded safe-entry into the Spirit Cleaning Pond and return of Zhu Guo in exchange for the spiritual medicine she needed to recover.

After obtaining the spiritual medicine, Bao Hua went into seclusion to use it recover. However, her presence within the Elder Devil realm became known to her enemies. Years later, she was lured into a trap by her two fiercest opponents Liu Ji and Lan Pu - the former who successfully usurped her original position as Matriarch. Still weakened, she was unable to continue to endure their relentless assault. Luckily, her battle was interrupted by the appearance of Han Li who had accidentally been caught by in the same trap. Her opponents were wary of fighting Han Li who had established a resounding reputation for upending the Elder Devil Realm by slaying numerous Devilish Lords and killing clones of Sacred Ancestors. She forced Han Li to help her in exchange for information on locating the Small Spirit Sky. She intended to use Han Li to kill her two opponents, however, she was forced to back-down when Han Li forced a truce. As a result, all parties went their separate ways.

Stemborer Queen

Over a century later, Bao Hua managed to recover from her wounds regaining her previous power comparable to the other Devilish Patriarchs and Matriarchs. She regained her power, and influence. However, she did not yet reobtain her title as a Matriarch. While recovering, the stemborer infestation grew out of control. Grand Ascension cultivators from multiple realms joined forces with the Devilish Patriarchs to repel and reinforce the seal that was trapping the Stemborer queen. Unfortunately, the joint task-force was lured into a trap by the Stemborer queen. As a result, Bao Hua was forced to become the defacto leader of a second task force to deal with the queen.

Bao Hua called for reinforcements across the neighboring realms. She assembled a second task force of Grand Ascension cultivators using a mysterious plan concocted while communicating with the seal. She was unknowingly talking with one of the true-immortals that was sent from the Immortal Realm to deal with the Stemborer queen. At the task-forces first meeting, she was shocked to see Han Li. She didn't expect him to ascend to the Grand Ascension stage in such a short time. Knowing of his prior exploits, she became wary of him and immediately identified him as having strength that rivaled herself and the other patriarchs.

Bao Hua led the task for in an assault against the stemborer infestation. As one of the leaders, she fought against the body of the Stemborer queen. Unknownst to her, the queen itself had died long ago and was possessed by one of the two immortals sent to deal with the queen. As a result, the queen's abilities were unexpected and forced both herself and Han Li to team together in order to barely match the queen. Luckily, Han Li used Spiritual-Sense Technique from the Immortal Realm to temporarily bind and so that the other immortal could kill the queen. Witnessing this technique, Bao Hua deduced that she was no match for Han Li and became extremely wary of his existence.

Together, both Bao Hua and Han Li were invited to visit the immortal that had vanquished the queen. As thanks for her previous efforts as a Matriarch to restrict the queen, Bao Hua was given Golden Yang Wood to help recover from her injuries and help her cultivation.

Becoming a Matriarch Again

Over a year after killing the Stemborer queen, Bao Hua reclaimed her position as a Matriarch from Liu Ji who had previously stolen it. Bao Hua predicted that Liu Ji had a defense pact with the other Devilish Patriarchs. As a result, Bao Hua solicited assistance from two powerful beings that had strength equivalent to the other two Patriarchs. She recruited Copper Crow and Han Li to stall both Nie Pan and Yuan Yan. She had to pay a heavy price in order to recruit their assistance, including making a vow that those under her command would not attack the Human and Demon Races whenever the Spirit and Elder Devil Realms temporarily overlapped. Thanks to her recruited allies, Bao Hua was able to kill Liu Ji who had been expecting assistance from the two patriarchs.
